Exchange Rate
As a Canadian retailer, Metalsmiths Sterling charges in Canadian dollars at checkout. Visitors from other countries can show their local currency when browsing but the final checkout will be shown in Canadian dollars.
If you are seeing a price difference between browsing the site and the checkout, it is because of the exchange rate.
When browsing, the site will default to your local currency. At checkout, because we can only accept one currency, it reverts to Canadian dollars. Your card will be charged in Canadian dollars but your credit card statement usually shows the exchange rate at the day of purchase along with the price paid in your local currency.
You should be able to see which currency you are browsing in by the 3 letter currency code next to a price.
For example:
- CAD - Canadian Dollar
- USD - United States Dollar
- GBP - Great Britain Pound Sterling
All gift cards are issued in Canadian Dollars.
