Legendary Baltic Amber
One of our favourite gemstones isn't technically a stone at all. Amber is fossilized tree resin that is 22-37 million years old. (How amazing that we can wear something organic from that many years ago and have it look this fabulous?)
Our amber is sourced from the Black sea where it washes to the shore. Once collected, artisans asses the pieces and craft the right piece of jewellery for that unique piece of amber.
The amber is naturally available in honey, golden cognac and green in a wide variety of shades.
Meaning of Amber
Amber lends a soothing, light energy that is both calming and energizing: it helps manifest desires and heighten intellectual abilities while giving clarity of thought and wisdom.
Amber is reputed to cleanse its environment by drawing out negativity, and to relieve physical pain the same way. It brings the energies of patience, protection, psychic shielding, romantic love, sensuality, purification, balance, healing and calmness to those who wear or carry it.
Amber is considered a good luck charm for love and marriage - a perfectly romantic gift for Valentine's day, weddings or anniversaries.
Legend of Baltic Amber - A pretty romantic story
The goddess Jūratė lived under the Baltic Sea in a beautiful amber castle ruling all of the sea life. When a young fisherman named Kastytis started disturbing the peace, she went to stop him but instead fell in love. They were happy together until Perkunas, the thunder god, found out. He was furious that a goddess would fall for a mere mortal and struck her amber castle, exploding it into millions of pieces that are still washing up on the shores of the Baltic sea.
Care
Take care when cleaning your amber pieces: clean your amber jewelry with a mild solution of soapy and slightly warm water and use a flannel cloth. Do not use hot water!
